With an output of nearly 3000 BTU’s the Texsport portable propane heater is tough enough to warm up your fishing shack, hunting blind or a small garage. The heat given out is directed with the steel reflector so you can make sure that it is not wasted.
This economy model has automatic fuel shut off and a large fold-out base. The stainless steel burner will give plenty of service and the heater takes a 16.4 oz. or 14.1 oz. disposable propane fuel cylinder.

Textport heater is not a bad item to have. | | Review Date: April 13, 2010 | | Reviewer: Christopher Nalbone, | | As of 4/13/10 I have used this heater about ten times.I use it in my basement workshop near my work bench. The basement is a little cool in the winter so I decided a small heater is a good thing.I would not recommend using a propane heater of this type indoors. You should shut down this heater if you leave the room.Never leave this heater unattended.Of course I always live a bit on the risk taking side of life,so I'm ok with heating devices.I have read some comments that are on the negative end, saying the heater will not stay lit.Looking at the construction of this heater ,I will have to say that the thermocouple is the weak point. The heater is a simple design and should be easy to repair.I believe there is a 5 year warranty so why worry . |
Outstanding Heater | | Review Date: March 3, 2008 | | Reviewer: Jennifer Kratochvil, California | | This propane heater is worth every penny for only 29.99. I bought another because it came in so handy! I have 3 boys that play baseball, the teams used it in the dug out to keep warm for the cold night games. |
Texsport Propane Heater | | Review Date: December 5, 2009 | | Reviewer: Bruce W. Obermeyer, USA | Ordering through Amazon.com was very easy and quick. The heater actually arrived several days earlier than I was expecting it. It arrived in perfect condition and well packaged with excellent instructions and inspection labels on the parts. I connected it to a standard propane bottle, followed the instructions for lighting it, and it worked perfectly. I have used it several times with no problems. As an aside, I am also using it as a prop in a school drama with my 7 year old grandson. He is playing the part of Dr. Robert Goddard, and the drama is about Goddard's perfecting the first liquid fuel rocket. We will use the heater as a "breadboard" rocket motor during one of the scenes. We will disguise it to look like a rocket motor on a test stand. The actual rocket launch in a later scene is performed with a 2-liter bottle and an air compressor and water, a design we got from NASA. I found the heater while searching for a replacement heating element for my older similar unit originally sold by American Camper that has none of the extra features this unit has (thermocouple, heat settings, flip-out stabilizers on the base). I purchased this unit and contacted Texsport to try to buy an additional heating element for my old heater since theirs appeared to be identical based on the photo. They advised me that their heating element would not work on my heater, but after exchanging a few emails with them, they sent me a heating element. I had to place an adapter between the new heating element and the discharge tube on my old heater since my old heating element had a male fitting to mate with the female fitting on the discharge tube, and the new heating element has a female fitting, but after connecting the new heating element, I lit it, and it works just like new again. I mention all this to highlight the very cordial and superb service Texsport provided to me. They were under no obligation to provide a part for a product they did not sell, but they cheerfully did so anyway. I will most likely buy more of their products in the future. |
